Cheating on the HCG Diet

It has been a crazy week to be on the HCG Diet. Actually, crazy doesnt begin to cover it. Insane is a better term.

The past four days Ive been in Columbus, Ohio attending a conference. The conference has been an amazing experience. What hasnt been an amazing experience is dieting while at the conference. Everywhere I go there is food. After every speaker theres either a meal or a refreshment bar. Ive seen meatballs, wontons, mashed potatoes, rolls, muffins, orange soda, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, pretzels, candy, bread sticks, ice cream, pizza, doughnuts... You get the point.

Im just going to say it.... I cheated.

I tried my best as long as I could, but lets just say Im ready to deal with the consequences of some of my not so good choices. I may have put on a few pounds, and I may stall. Theres no quick fix for it, and any frustration that comes from this is a direct result of my actions. I will have to own up to it and deal with it. The good news is that today is a new day and a new opportunity to refocus.

My initially plan was to do a 40 day round, that would mean Id finish Phase 2 on the 15th of this month. After this week, I want to extend. My goal for this round is 25 lbs. So I need to refocus, get back on track and reach that goal before the 22nd!

Last round was so much easier, but this round has made me step out of my comfort zone in exciting ways. Even though I ate some things I shouldnt have, something exciting happened. Without even thinking, I stopped eating when I was full. Its embarrassing to admit, but two months ago, that was not a practice of mine. I lived life by the motto Clear Your Plate No Matter What. Thats not always the best motto. I love recognizing that Im full and being able to stop.

People who have never used HCG say that we are taking the easy way out... What they dont realize is that this diet is everything but easy. HCG has taught me a lot about myself. And most of those lessons have come the hard way. There are times, like this week, when I just want to stop... But as I sit here, a little bloated and frustrated I know that Ive got a long way to go and if it werent for this diet, Id still be 285 lbs. I will never go back there.

Have you ever cheated on your diet?

Random Notes:
For those who have asked, the detox bath I tried last week did work. I was down a pound the next morning. I also drank about 1/8 cup apple cider vinegar (not diluted) the next day and woke up to a 1.2  pound loss. These things may not work for everyone, but they did for me!
