Down and dirty

At the very beginning of my HCG Journey in June, one of the first healthy steps I took was doing the Dirty Dash. I was 285 pounds, extremely out of shape, and terrified of doing a muddy, 5k obstacle course. This was a company activity, and since I had just started working for HCGDiet.com and I didnt want people thinking I was lazy, so I signed up.

It turned out to be just as hard as I thought, but amazingly rewarding. I had so much fun! It really taught me the limits I can push my body to. It also taught me that sometimes things that are scary and difficult are incredibly fun.

It was a great way to start my HCG Journey!

When the company decided to do it again this weekend, I wasnt sure. Last time was great, but it was hard. So hard. I didnt feel the same motivation as I did before. What if I got there and I was still just as out as shape as I was the first time despite all my hard work. The more I thought about it, the more scared I became. Well... I signed up anyway.

Dirty Dash Take 2 went really well. I didnt have to rest as frequently as I did the first time, and I didnt feel like I was constantly on the brink of death!

Im 60 pounds lighter now than I was the first time and I was amazed at how much easier certain things were. Climbing in and out of mud trenches seems less impossible when you can actually pull your body weight up.

Im glad I didnt let fear intimidate me into staying home this weekend. I am also glad that my body is able to do things better and faster than it was just a few months ago. I dont know whats more of an accomplishment: knowing that physically I have more stamina, or that I look so darn good covered in mud. :)
